چکیده

As the storage needs of computer applications and users become more sophisticated and increase beyond what can easily be satisfied by a few disk array controllers, aggregating and managing the many disparate components of the storage system become severe problems. Distributed disk systems, which manage collections of disks shared by or partitioned across multiple nodes, may offer a solution to this problem by automating the management of these storage resources. Such systems can automatically tolerate and recover from component failures, gracefully scale in capacity and performance as components are added, allow the storage distributed across multiple nodes to be managed as a single system, and provide useful management abstractions such as virtual disks and snapshots. This paper describes the different architectural and design alternatives embodied in Snappy Disk and Petal, two distributed disk systems that have similar external features but have radically different internal structures, and studies the effect of these differences on the systems’ performance, availability, and manageability. Analysis of two production inventory systems with buffer, retrials and different production rates

This paper considers the comparison of two ðs; SÞ production inventory systems with retrials of unsatisfied customers. The time for producing and adding each item to the inventory is exponentially distributed with rate b. However, a production rate ab higher than b is used at the beginning of the production. The higher production rate will reduce customers’ loss when inventory level appro...

Static Task Allocation in Distributed Systems Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm

Over the past two decades, PC speeds have increased from a few instructions per second to several million instructions per second. The tremendous speed of today's networks as well as the increasing need for high-performance systems has made researchers interested in parallel and distributed computing. The rapid growth of distributed systems has led to a variety of problems. Task allocation is a...

On Complex Object Distribution Technique for Distributed Computing Systems

Object partitioning is an essential mechanism for improving the performance of object-based systems. However, in most of the work to date, emphasis has been connned to the optimization of disk rotation and seek time. The trend in the development of advanced information systems has become more and more towards distributed environments. In a distributed environment , multiple loosely-coupled (or ...

Dynamic Planning the Expansion of Electric Energy Distribution Systems Considering Distributed Generation Resources in the Presence of Power Demand Uncertainty

In this paper, a new strategy based on a dynamic (time-based) model is proposed for expansion planning of electrical energy distribution systems, taking into account distributed generation resources and advantage of the techno-economic approach. In addition to optimal placement and capacity, the proposed model is able to determine the timing of installation / reinforcement of expansion options....

Comparison of WaveOne and ProTaper Universal Preparation Systems in the Amount of Smear Layer/Debris Production: an in-vitro SEM Study

Background and Aim: Debris and the smear layer that remain after root canal preparations may result in failure of root canal therapies. The aim of this study was to compare the smear layer formation and the amount of residual debris following the use of WaveOne and ProTaper rotary files in mesiobuccal root canals of upper first molars by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Materials and Method...
